Health in Pregnancy Grant - £190
This grant is a one-off payment made by HM Revenue & Customs direct into the mother's bank account.
It is paid to all expectant mothers resident in the UK from the 25th week of pregnancy. It's non-means tested,
tax-free and does not affect any benefits you might receive. The grant is designed to enable you to have access
to quality antenatal preparation and support for the birth of your baby.
Sure Start Maternity Grant - £500
You may be eligible for this grant if you are on certain means-tested benefits and this includes:
Income support; or
Income based job seekers allowance; or
Income related employment and support allowance; or
Child tax Credit - awarded at a rate higher than the family element; and/or
Working Tax Credit - where a disability or severe disability element is included in the award; or
Pension Credit; and
A baby is expected or born.
If you qualify for this grant, you can claim it at any time from the 11th week before the first day of the week in which the baby is due,
and up to 3 months from the date of the birth.

If your family or friends want to contribute towards the cost of your antenatal sessions, gift vouchers are available.
